It must be May! So many things are happening at school right now that it's hard to keep up, but I wanted to share some pictures from our Enrichments program which ended a few weeks ago.
Enrichments is a special program for grades 5-12 during the winter trimester. Classes are shortened by a few minutes each Friday in order to allow for an hour and a half of unique elective options at the end of the day. This year, the options included a wide variety of activities from starting a new chapter of Girls Learn International, to photography, to designing a pollinator garden, to pickling, fairy tales, and much much more. One of our beginner photographers, Sadie, was even featured in a BBC study on the theme of "Freedom."
Enrichments is a great opportunity for faculty and students to explore new a creative ideas together, while collaborating in groups with a wide range of ages. It's also a fun way to lift our spirits on some cold winter days. We're currently exploring ways to make our Enrichments program even better: more student-driven ideas, leadership opportunities, and authentic learning. I can't wait to see where it takes us in 2015!
